Regarding the severe cold, it is said that the blood is freezing cold or you must have heard that it is getting so cold in some country that the water freezes as soon as it is kept outside. Just by this process of freezing of water, the plants become two or four. Actually, liquid remains in plants. Because of this liquid, plants take gases from the environment. Apart from this, do your daily work. When the frost is high, this liquid starts freezing. The plant tolerates up to a limit. If it is too cold, the liquid stops completely. The plant dies. In this, yellowing of leaves and other symptoms start appearing.
Then protect potato crops from frost

Experts say that potatoes get scorched due to frost. This is called scorching disease. To save potatoes from scorching disease, the farmer must irrigate. Water acts as a temperature regulator. The surrounding temperature does not rise and the crops remain safe. Potato crop should be irrigated at an interval of 10 to 15 days.

If potatoes are being grown in a small area or are being prepared in a nursery, then it should be covered with a plastic sheet or similar carpet. The work of covering the sheet should be done at night. Its advantage is that the temperature inside the plastic increases by 3 to 4 degree Celsius. Plants do not feel that much cold. Nor are they able to come directly in the grip of frost. While covering like this, keep the southern and eastern part of the plants open.
Rotten whey can also be useful
According to media reports, potatoes can be saved from frostbite even with home remedies. To protect the potato crop from frost, dissolve 4 liters of rotten whey, 100 liters of buttermilk in water for about 20 to 25 days and sprinkle it on the crop two to three times. This protects from frost.
